SMILE Volunteers is an organization originating in Lexington, Kentucky. Founded by Barrett Block and managed in partnership with Andrew Brennen, two high school students from Lexington, Kentucky. SMILE Volunteers has as its mission to facilitate the service endeavors of students of all ages. To Barrett and Andrew, and all the other contributors of SMILE, including Silvia Radulescu, this mission is paramount. For there is not a dearth of enthusiasm or zeal in today’s youth to perform community service— students today are more willing than ever to serve. Rather, the problem is one of organization. There simply does not exist an expeditious manner of linking potential student volunteers with potential volunteer activities. That is, until now.
